Everyone can relate to Mark Todd Vindas.
Whether you’ve gone through college, an internship or anything that forced you to put all of your attention onto that one specific task, there’s a part of us that gets where Vindas is coming from when he explains what MTV’s newest reality show, Winter Break: Hunter Mountain, means to him.
“My whole life I’ve always revolved my goals around going to medical school and pursuing a career as an orthopedic surgeon,” Vindas said. “And don’t get me wrong, that is great but I was ready for a fun escape.
“I wanted to do something most people would never do and live it up. When I found out about the show, I signed up knowing I was going to make the most of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity if I was chosen.”
Vindas recently graduated from Boston College where he majored in Biology/Pre Med. He plans to continue doing medical research for the next year before taking the MCATs (the exam taken before going to medical school).
So it’s obvious why Vindas jumped at this opportunity with MTV. He just wanted to escape for a minute, take a breather from the grueling studies of a prospective medical student and just let loose.
This will ultimately be a fun narrative to watch as Winter Break: Hunter Mountain progresses through its season.
“I want my fans to see that I’m a genuine person,” Vindas said. “What you see, is what you get. I am always down to party, whether we start at the break of dawn or never stop from the night before.
“When it comes to my career I work very hard and take my responsibilities seriously. Outside of all of that, I do love love and I love the beauty of women, and that’s very apparent from day one.”
Vindas, who is one of eight houseguests on the show, instantly struck out as a character to watch in the premiere. The gym-aficionado quickly had his eyes on fellow houseguest, Taylor, and showcased his party (and snowboard) skills all within an hour of air time.
Like the viewers, Vindas admits he sometimes watches the show and remarks, “Oh no, what am I doing here.”
“After the first episode, I was constantly like, “Why would I ever say that?” But after I left the house, I knew I was going to watch it and laugh more than anything,” Vindas said. “We had such a great time and there were so many funny moments. I can’t wait to see how the rest of the season plays out.”
One thing is for sure: the med student is bound to, and deservedly so, to let loose this season.
